Place Value BOOM Cards Mystery Picture 2 Digit First Grade Math
By Teaching Dinos
These mystery picture task cards help students to practice their 2 digit place value facts with tens and ones, helping increase their knowledge on base ten operations. They are self-grading, and allow you to track student progress. These BOOM Cards™ would be great on a laptop, desktop, Chromebook, tablet, or any other mobile device that can access the internet. They can even be used on your Smart Board!
Students will either read the top place value description on each card, or press the speaker icon to have the place value description read to them. They will then click on the correct box, proceeding to the next card. There are 2 different mystery picture games included in this deck. The first game starts with tens and ones (ex. 2 tens, 3 ones), and later changes from ones to tens (ex. 4 ones, 6 tens). In the second game, these two strategies are mixed throughout the entirety of that set.
Kids will love the excitement and anticipation as they work through the games to discover the mystery picture! At the end of each mystery picture is a silly creature congratulating them and rewarding them with a silly reward!

Digital Slides workmat for addition and subtraction problems
By TamiaDesigns
Need some online manipulatives for place value, or addition and subtraction problems? This file is a template that you will add your own addition and subtraction problems to. You might choose to add them ahead of time, or you could write them in on the fly as you work with students. To use this file, you will need a Google account.
There are 3 basic templates:
· Using tens and ones (largest number: 99)
· Using hundreds, tens, and ones (largest number: 999)
· Using thousands, hundreds, tens, and ones (largest number: 9, 999)
The numbers at the top of each column are draggable, so students can move them into the grid to better visualize the math problem and understand place value. Each column has a stack of 9 numbers ready to drag.
Thee are many ways to use this file! You could project it, use it on an interactive whiteboard, or you could share the file with students the way you share any other Google Slides files.
Duplicate the slides as many times as you need to before sharing with students, or have the students use the 'undo' button to remove work they've done on one problem before moving on to another one.
This file is not intended for use with problems that require regrouping. I have another file for that as a "next step". Buy them together as a bundle and save!

Place value Build a 2 digit number with base 10 / MAB blocks Google Slides
By TamiaDesigns
Do your students need practice in identifying the value of digits in 2-digit numbers or in breaking down numbers into ones and tens? This online, activity in Google Slides using base ten blocks (MAB blocks) will give them plenty of practice, and help develop their understanding of how numbers are made up! Students are presented with two numbers at a time to build by dragging one and ten blocks onto the work mat. The numbers are paired (13 and 31 for example) so that they can easily see how where a digit is placed affects its value. (The numbers 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, and 99 are not included in this activity.)
This makes for a great independent math center activity, or you can project the activity for a whole group look at how to build numbers. There are a total of 45 cards and 90 different numbers between 1 and 98 for students to build. This activity is similar to another one in my store which also asks students to build the number and type the number in words. (Very useful for English language learners who may need help distinguishing between the -ty and -teen numbers.) The other is a customizable template - you decide which numbers you want the students to build on each slide, whereas this activity is a potential time-saver for you as it is ready to go. Buy them as a bundle so you have the convenience of the paired numbers already set up, and the flexibility to create your own question sets!
If you want a self-correcting version of the activity, check out the Boom Cards version.
