Have your students go crazy over this super fun short and long vowel practice activity! Use this HUGE PDF-based digital activity to introduce and practice long and short vowel sounds of letters a, e, i, o, and u.

Please note: This sample version only includes letter a.

First, select one of the five vowel sound sets. As soon as you hit “Go!”, a word is presented along with a colorful image. It is now up to the student to select whether a long or short vowel is being used. This activity is self-correcting, so your kiddos can do it all by themselves! After 20 words per set have been completed (10 short and 10 long vowel words) the student is sent along to the next set.

Along with that, there is a digital flash card activity that introduces the same words. You can even select whether you want to show short or long vowels for each chosen vowel sound!
