1st Grade Classroom Management Google Apps

Do you need a back to school behavior incentives that incentivize students in and outside of the classroom? This is a perfect addition to your classroom management plan.

One way to use this tool is to use it as a hallway incentive. There is a Google Slide version and a PDF version. The first way you could use it is to choose one of the slides for the week or for the month. Students will earn a virtual pizza, balloon, or golden egg every time they receive a compliment from another adult in the hallway. You would just need to move that piece over to the middle of the slide to where it fits. You could make it a bit easier for the students and move it yourself if every student is quiet in the hallway every time your class walked in the hallway.

If you print the PDF out, print it in landscape mode to make sure it prints correctly. You would then cut out and laminate the main pages and then cut out and laminate the eggs, pizza slices, and balloons. You could use velcro or magnetic pieces to move the items to their correct spot once earned.

This incentive works wonders with every classroom management plan and even strengthens it because you will have the best-behaved students in the school. You would decide what prize the students receive once earning all of the pieces for the slide or the board. It could even be free prizes such as school money, extra recess, a game against you, etc.

Conflict Resolution Activities Corner: Social Problem-Solving Strategies for Kids in 1st and 2nd grade

Social-emotional learning has never been more important!  This conflict resolution corner outlines STEP-BY-STEP instructions for helping students to solve conflicts with one another.  You'll find that this problem solving strategy looks like a flowchart when it's displayed in your classroom. You or your school counselor could introduce it as a conflict resolution guidance lesson and then give a few scenarios to help students with friendship conflict resolution. BACK TO SCHOOL LETTERS FROM THE TEACHER:

This welcome back to school product includes a letter that teachers can send home to parents as well as a letter that teachers can send home with students. Each letter comes in a variety of border choices and black-and-white versions.

• The letter to parents comes with a boy or girl version (the pronouns are changed throughout the letter to reflect a male student or a female student). This letter has three color background options as well the corresponding backgrounds in black and white.

• The letter to students comes with three color background options as well as the corresponding backgrounds and clip art in black and white. Note: This letter does not require a boy/girl option since the teacher is using the pronouns "you" and "I" throughout the letter.

• The new letters that have been added for 2020 can be found in the BEGINNING of the product file. You will find them on the first six pages following the instructions for editing the text boxes in the greeting and signature fields.

All versions of each letter have editable text boxes in the Greeting Field and the Signature Field. You can edit these two places on each letter, if you choose. If you'd like to print the letters as is, you may write in the student's name and your own signature. Just for reference, the font is Miss Kindergarten by Kimberly Geswein and the size is 14. THE BODY OF THE LETTERS ARE NOT EDITABLE.

BOTH LETTERS ARE ORIGINAL! I have NOT copied a letter that I found online and retyped it. This is important because you may want to mix things up and send a new letter home this year.

AN ADDITIONAL SPECIAL 2020 VERSION OF THESE LETTERS HAS BEEN ADDED to account for the changes that occurred in the 2020 school year due to the COVID crisis. These letters make note of the fact that your school year ended early unexpectedly due to the coronavirus.

You will also find a GOOGLE Slides option so that you can send paperless letters remotely (via email or through Google). Look at the final page of the GOOGLE SLIDES FILE for instructions on sending these end of year letters remotely!

NOTE: The body of these letters are NOT EDITABLE. If you want a letter that you can edit, this is NOT the product for you. The greeting and signature field are the ONLY customizable portions of this product.

These editable (the greeting and signature fields are the ONLY editable portion of the letters) end of year letters to students and parents include an encouraging letter that teachers can send home to parents as well as a letter that teachers can send home with students (each letter contains a different message and is ORIGINAL).

The letter to parents comes with a boy or girl version (the pronouns are changed throughout the letter to reflect a male student or a female student). This letter has three color background options as well as similar backgrounds in black and white.

The letter to students comes with three color background options as well as the corresponding backgrounds in black and white. Note: This letter does not require a boy/girl option since the teacher is using the pronouns "you" and "I" throughout the letter.

All versions of each letter have editable text boxes in the Greeting Field and the Signature Field. You can edit these two places on each letter, if you choose. If you'd like to print the letters as is, you may write in the student's name and your own signature. Just for reference, the font is Miss Kindergarten by Kimberly Geswein.

AGAIN, THE BODY OF THE LETTER IS NOT EDITABLE!

ALL THE LETTERS ARE ORIGINAL! I did NOT copy a letter that I found online and retype it. This is important because you may want to mix things up and send a new letter home this year.

Cool Down Corner Posters: Self-Regulation Calm Down Corner for Social-Emotional Learning. This calm down corner was designed to help students regulate their emotions.  Teaching students to be more mindful and to develop self-control has never been more important.
