FRENCH MATHS | SANS CAHIER/PAPERLESS | TRIANGLES & QUADRILATÈRES | ANGLES |

  • Un jeu de triangle ;

  • Les discussions, le partage et la pratique sont incités dans les diapositives ;

  • Explication approfondie de la teminologie, des symboles et du jargon des angles ;

  • De nombreuses opportunités pour les élèves de travailler de manière autonome et avec un partenaire ;

  • Dessiner des triangles avec toutes les informations ;

  • Dessiner des triangles avec des informations manquantes ;

  • Défi: créer un triangle pour un partenaire; et résoudre celui d'un partenaire.

Ceci, ainsi que tous mes lots et documents, ne nécessite aucune préparation ni planification. Profitez de ces diapositives animées et engageantes qui expliquent:

  • Les points de repère 45*, 90* et 180* ;

MATH GR 5-6 | LA MESURE | GEOMETRY SLIDE DECK | AIRE, VOLUME, PÉRIMÈTRE (FRENCH)

By French Made Fun!

This 86-page document has everything you could possibly need to effectively teach area, perimeter and volume to your 5th and 6th graders, or as a refresher for your grade 7's. This slide deck will make your teaching painless, paperless, and requiring zero planning. I teach with a workshop style format and my paperless slide decks provide your students with plenty of guided and shared instruction and opportunities to practice with a partner and solo - to free you up to easily assess and work with the students who need you most. Get a class set of whiteboards and markers, and away you go! Let me teach FOR you and show your students what they need to know, the strategies they need and the confidence they desperately require to be successful with math. I make it simple, visual, step-by-step and fool-proof for you (or your sub!) and your students.

Here are the concepts and strategies I cover in this document:

  • Drawing a precise line, to the tenths (dixièmes);
  • Units of measurement;
  • What exactly is a rectangle?;
  • Understanding symmetry when it comes to length and height (longueur et largeur) and how to use it to our advantage to find missing values;
  • Using Base 10 blocks to create shapes based on given dimensions;
  • "Reading" Base 10 block creations for their dimensions;
  • Strategies for calculating surface area (i.e.: physically counting, drawing, using equations);
  • "Saying" area values out loud - and what to make of that exponent 2;
  • Calculating area and perimeter of rectangles using formulas - I really emphasize the need to START with a formula and work with the formula!
  • Finding missing values (dimensions) of a rectangle for area and perimeter;
  • Constructing rectangles when given a total surface area (and nothing else);
  • Finding dimensions that WORK and DON'T work for a given surface area;
  • Finding total surface area and perimeter from given dimensions;
  • Estimating total surface area and comparing different shapes' dimensions;
  • Finding both area and perimeter for the same rectangle;
  • The difference between two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes;
  • Using the formula for calculating volume - and starting with two values and working our way up!;
  • Using Base 10 blocks to represent 3-dimensional shapes (and remembering that volume is the total number of units within the entire shape);

Your students will be provided with games:

  • "Quelles sont ses dimensions?!" - A trivia-style game where students must "read" a Base 10 Block creation and find it's width and height values.
  • "Ce n'est pas possible!" - A multiple choice trivia-style game where students must find the "intruder" in a series of dimensions for given surface areas.
  • "Quelle est l'aire?" - A quick trivia-style game where students must choose the appropriate answer (they'll have to pay close attention to the formulas and units of measurement to be successful!)
  • "Quel est le périmètre?" - A quick trivia-style game where students must choose the appropriate answer (they'll have to pay close attention to the formulas and units of measurement to be successful!)

In addition to the games, your students will have opportunities to see guided examples, practice with a partner and finally, practice solo. During the independent and partner practice, I work with my "low" students while the rest of my class is busy showing me their ability to prove their understanding independently.

My Facebook group is the place to be if you want to be first-to-know about upcoming sales, contests, freebies or whatever else I've got up my sleeve.

This bundle is composed of two great resources perfectly melted in a third file included, Geometry 2D shapes, the one has the links of these two resources:

2D shapes learning and 2D shapes quiz game

2D shapes learning (Let's learn)

Fantastic resource in PowerPoint that will be very useful when explaining the properties of each of the following 2D shapes:

- Circle
- Oval
- Triangle
- Square
- Rectangle
- Rhombus
- Trapezium
- Pentagon
- Hexagon
- Heptagon
- Octagon
- Nonagon
- Decagon

A total of thirteen 2D shapes in their corresponding slides, where we can see how many sides, angles, and vertices each one of them has dynamically and attractively through various animations. If you click on the number of sides shown in the chart for each of the shapes, an animation clearly shows which sides are. If you click on the number of angles or the number of vertices, they will also be clearly shown to the student using individual animations.
Apart from the shape drawn as an example, a real example of that shape and another example of that shape in the art world are shown. To see this last example larger, click on it.

2D shapes quiz game (Let's play)

Fun and educational quiz game with which to learn about 2D shapes.

These are:

- Circle

- Oval

- Triangle

- Square

- Rectangle

- Rhombus

- Trapezium

- Pentagon

- Hexagon

- Heptagon

- Octagon

- Nonagon

- Decagon

This game consists of 42 questions with between 2 and 4 possible answers each. Most of the time, only one of the options is correct, but in others, all the options are correct.

There are two kinds of questions:

- Which of these shapes is a square?

- What shape is this?

If the question is failed, the chosen option is framed in red, and a buzz sounds, but it allows you to answer again until you find the correct answer. When that happens, applause sounds, and the green button appears to allow you to move to another slide. The order of the slides is never the same thanks to the Visual Basic code for the green button to go to a random slide. However, you have the alternative of clicking on the blue "SKIP" button. That button will go through the slides in the exact order they are placed. If you think some questions are not according to the level of your students, press this button occasionally. If you have placed the slides in a specific order and want them to be played in that exact order, always press this blue button and not the green one.

When you first open the document, you will be prompted to enable content that is blocked for security reasons. That content is nothing more than the Visual Basic code for the green button to achieve that random order. Please accept it to use it, but you will still have the blue button if you don't do it.

Please accept it to use it, but if you don't do it, you will still have the blue button.

2D shapes learn and play in Spanish

By Ms Garcia Store

This bundle is a perfect fusion of two exceptional resources, complemented beautifully by a third file, "Geometry 2D Shapes," which serves as a hub for accessing these two resources:

2D shapes learning and 2D shapes quiz game (both in Spanish)

Keep the three files in the same folder

2D shapes learning (Aprende)

Fantastic resource in PowerPoint that will be very useful when explaining the properties of each of the following 2D shapes:

- Triángulo
- Cuadrado
- Rectángulo
- Rombo
- Trapecio
- Pentágono
- Hexágono
- Heptágono
- Octágono
- Nonágono
- Decágono

A total of thirteen 2D shapes in their corresponding slides, where we can see how many sides, angles, and vertices each one of them has dynamically and attractively through various animations. If you click on the number of sides shown in the chart for each of the shapes, an animation clearly shows which sides are. If you click on the number of angles or the number of vertices, they will also be clearly shown to the student using individual animations.
Apart from the shape drawn as an example, a real example of that shape and another example of that shape in the art world are shown. To see this last example larger, click on it.

This game consists of 42 questions with between 2 and 4 possible answers each. Most of the time, only one of the options is correct, but in others, it may be that all the options are correct.

There are two kinds of questions:

- ¿Cuál de estas figuras es un cuadrado? (Which of these shapes is a square?)

- ¿Qué figura es esta? (What shape is this?)
