This Valentine's Day themed activity is a fun way to practice the writing conventions involved with writing conversations. Students will use the inspiration of Conversation Hearts to writes a conversation. They will practice writing with quotation marks and the conventions involved.
Students can also have the opportunity to practice oral presentations by using Conversation Hearts to create conversation. They will work with a partner to design and present a conversation.

Students will estimate how many are in their box, then find the difference between their estimate and the actual amount. Then using their conversation hearts they will round, make patterns, make equal groups, and addition. This is great for the 3rd grade as it does talk about multiplication and equal groups.
