This is a great Valentine's math activity. You will need a box of conversation hearts for each student. They will use their box to do some fun math. Students will estimate how many are in their box, then find the difference between their estimate and the actual amount. Then using their conversation hearts they will round, make patterns, make equal groups, and addition. This is great for the 3rd grade as it does talk about multiplication and equal groups.
