This is a great creative and therapeutic resource to help individuals explore core values, self confidence and beliefs in a non-threatening and trauma-informed way.

This resource can support the teacher or therapist to:

- engage and assess the student

- facilitate communication

- establish a therapeutic rapport

- develop individual goals

Students are encouraged to read each statement on each card (total of 18) and colour in the fish to represent how they feel. For example, if they totally agree with the statement, they would colour in the whole fish. If they agree just a little bit, they can colour in just a little bit of the fish. This is a great exercise to support students to gain insight and help teachers and therapists explore what core beliefs and values the student has.

This intervention helps students reflect, project their internal beliefs and feelings associated with the death of their loved one. This activity can help them to express their deepest feelings and fears about death and gain a sense of acceptance and closure.

This activity includes a fictional character who has lost loved ones. The activity looks at how this fictional character feels about missing them. An example letter from this character to her loved ones as well as a letter from their loved ones to this fictional character is included.

The students are then encouraged to write their own letter (on provided templates) to their loved ones and write a reply letter back. A one page of "sentence starters" is provided to help students should they require some ideas as to what they can write.

Developing self-awareness is a key component in helping children understand their own emotions as well as the emotions of others.

This lesson encourages children to build self-confidence and problem-solving skills by developing their own “self-care” tea. Helping students explore self-care at a young age can help them feel more confident and prepared when they need to implement them. During difficult times.

Students are encouraged and supported to create their own teacup filled with individual self-care habits and strategies that meet their individuals needs. Children can choose from a variety of self-care teacups and write their own self-care strategy tea bags to include. Don’t Eat Pete is a fun game for kids of all ages to play with their favorite candy or snack! Use any type of candy to put on each of the 8 spaces on the game board. One child is then sent out of the room while the others decide which space/BBQer item is “Pete” and then the child returns to class to pick one snack at a time until they get to “Pete” and the kids yell out “Don’t Eat Pete!”. Play until each student gets a chance to play. There is 1 game board, 1 directions/cover, and 1 graphing worksheet. Don’t Eat Pete is a fun holiday game for kids of all ages to play with candy canes or other Christmas candy! Use any type of candy to put on each of the 8 spaces on the game board. One child is then sent out of the room while the others decide which space/Santa item is “Pete” and then the child returns to class to pick one snack at a time until they get to “Pete” and the kids yell out “Don’t Eat Pete!”. Play until each student gets a chance to play. There is 1 game board, 1 directions/cover, and 1 graphing worksheet.
