The first lesson is interactive and involves students cutting out facts, and then sorting these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the students need to use these facts to write four paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson children need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions on a prompt sheet before writing up their conclusion. In the final lesson students need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on to a neat copy on the template provided.

In this product, students will learn about delegates - who they were and what they did, and how long they worked to create the United States Constitution, the delegates disagreed with one another, but they did disagree on what should be included in the Constitution, why they disagreed with one another, and how they came to a compromise, Congress - where it is located, who meets in the United States Capitol building - the two houses - the Senate and the House of Representatives - how they were different based on members, length of terms, age for members, organization, and how many per state, the federal government and what they do and what the state government and what they do, the three branches of government - Executive, Judicial, and Legislative Branch - what they do, how they are different, how they work together, and how they each have specific jobs, and the system of Checks and Balances that is followed within the government and why.
The notes are adapted to meet your student's individual learning needs. After reviewing and discussing the notes, they will answer comprehension questions to review what was discussed on previous pages, students will read the 3 Branches of Government chart, and answer questions based on each of these provided. Short answer comprehension questions, fill in the blank comprehension questions with the use of a key, answering comprehension questions based on a map, and drawing a diagram based on data that was provided will be asked of students when completing the test that is included in this product on the Civil War.
