Please note that if your students are not familiar with fixed mindset and growth mindset, they will need some basic information prior to using these journal prompts in order to understand the connection to growth mindset. This might mean that you give a brief explanation for each prompt prior to completing each activity. There are 20 different journal prompts as well as a page for teacher tips, and optional back pages (blank lines if you choose to copy front-to-back for students to have extra space to write). The Magical Yet book by Angela DiTerlizzi was a huge hit with my younger elementary students. We've been learning about Growth Mindset and dreaming about all of the things that we cannot do...yet... but want to work hard to accomplish someday! Growth mindset, perseverance , and creativity all wrapped into one activity. The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds is very much loved and anticipated by my students! This activity is a great follow up in allowing students time to let their imaginations run, while motivating them to take the first step and see what could happen!
