Self Evaluation Math - 4th Grade Hands On Activities for Student Self Reflection
By Curious Classroom Adventures
The latest research found that students self-assessing and self-reporting on their progress in math is one of the top strategies to implement for encouraging student growth.
These 4th grade math self-assessment checklists and tasks are designed as a framework to allow your students to do that. They also allow the teacher to see quickly which 4th grade math concepts students have mastered and determine which ideas need further practice.
This comprehensive self-assessment resource includes 16 assessment checklists and 16 task pages aligned with 4th grade common core standards and Texas Standards.
The self-assessment math tasks are easy to understand and require very little teacher prep-just print or share digitally and allow students access to classroom manipulatives. Printable manipulatives are included as well.
The kid-friendly self-assessment checklists are easy for students to read and determine their math progress by choosing one of 3 options:
The math self-assessment checklists are the size of a half-page, so students can glue the checklists right into their math composition book journals and show all their thinking on the following pages. This makes it easy for students to revisit past tasks and update progress. This also makes sharing the progress and work examples with parents easy.

Apple Music Curator Playlist Assignment - Great for Back to School!
By MsNerdWood
This package includes 4 tasks to get your students thinking about their musical choices. What Is Included: Task 1: Create Your Apple Playlist Task 2: Descriptive Paragraph About Your Playlist Task 3: Cover Art Design Task 4: Reflection Questions (Equity and Inclusivity) Rubric I typically give this assignment out at the beginning of the school year to get to know my student’s taste in music. It takes between 4-6 periods to complete and is appropriate for grade 5-8. Please note: This assignment works best if you are able to access Apple Music. As a teacher, you could always set up a free account to show to your students or ask your students if any of them already have it and would be willing to show the class how it works. Spend some time and show them how to use it if you have access to it. You can also see some demos from the Apple website. If you do not subscribe to Apple Music, I highly recommend it. You can still use this assignment without Apple Music with your students and they can reflect on the inclusivity of the playlist that they create. TIPS: 1. Be sure to leave feedback to earn your TeachShare credits! 2. If you like what you see - follow me for new products and updates (click the star by my store name MsNerdWood).

Independent Reading Accountability Rubric for self assessment
By The Red-Haired Reader
Are you in need of a way to encourage your students to come to class prepared and ready to read independently? Do you want to reward those who consistently do their best, and motivate those who could be doing better? Do you like to use self-assessment tools in class to hold your students accountable? Check out my rubric!
This is an independent reading preparedness and preparation rubric I use to make sure students come to class prepared to read, and stay focused and respectful to their peers while reading in class. It is a 4 point rubric, and focuses on preparedness and performance. Students use it to self-assess their own reading habits, and set a goal to work towards at the bottom. Then I go in and score them with a different color pen on the rubric, so they can see where they believe they are, and where I believe they are on the rubric.
Please help my little business grow!

Folklore Fable Tri-phase Assessment | Track Growth | CCSS - Common Core Aligned
By Sean Alexander Dennison
Introducing the Triphase Milestone Rubric System: Elevate Your Classroom with Standards-Based Assessment
The Triphase Milestone Rubric System is a revolutionary assessment framework designed to align with the rigorous expectations of Common Core Standards, crafted specifically for educators aiming to enhance student engagement, understanding, and creativity.
This comprehensive rubric system is uniquely structured for use at three critical junctures within a quarter: the Emergence Milestone Piece (EMP), the Developing Milestone Piece (DMP), and the Performance Milestone Piece (PMP), each serving a distinct purpose in the assessment and development process.
Why the Triphase Milestone Rubric System?
Common Core Standards Alignment: Tailored to meet and exceed the Common Core Standards, this system ensures that assessments are both rigorous and relevant, focusing on critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
Innovative Triphase Approach:
Growth and Development Focus: By tracking progress from the EMP through the PMP, educators can clearly see each student's development, providing targeted feedback and support to foster growth and mastery of the standards.
Efficiency and Sustainability: Designed for ease of use and sustainability, the system requires a single printout of the rubric, color-coded for each phase, reducing preparation time and environmental impact.
Engagement Through Personalized Feedback: The DMP phase emphasizes the importance of one-to-one feedback, promoting a deepened understanding and connection between educators and students, which is instrumental in guiding students towards excellence.
Ideal for Educators Looking To:
Adopt the Triphase Milestone Rubric System in your classroom to provide a structured, standards-based framework that supports student learning, creativity, and growth. This system not only aligns with educational standards but also encourages students to engage deeply with content, develop critical thinking skills, and express their understanding in innovative ways.
