This Describing Emotions Bundle includes six useful games and resources that can be used in small groups or as whole group guidance activities. Lesson plans are not included in any of the downloads.

Six Activities Included:

Activity #1- Describing Emotions.

What are Emotions? Explanation through posters and a worksheet.

Session #1

Activity #2- Discussing Emotions.

Students are asked to recall and describe emotional scenarios they have previously encountered. This process links arbitrary emotions with situations they have experienced. It makes the emotions understandable and relatable.

Session #2

Activity #3- Working With Emotions.

Understanding your own emotions. Students are given situations and asked to identify the emotions the situation would evoke.

Session #3

Activity #4- The Effects of Emotions.

Students learn that their emotions impact others and that other’s emotions impact them.

Session #4

Activity #5- Recognizing Other’s Emotions.

Walk a Mile in other people’s shoes as we discover how situations affect other people and start to develop empathy.

Session #5

Activity #6- Understanding All Emotions

The board game! Students solidify their understanding of emotions while playing a shoots and ladders type board game.

Session #6

To create these games you will need a printer, laminator (optional), scissors, and a few spare minutes.

This is the first activity that I’ll be doing with my class this year to teach them about Advent and I’m so excited to see if they like them as much as other sets I use. I hope you’ll look forward to preparing your class with these write the room cards too!

✿ The Beatitudes Cut & Paste Worksheet Pack - Catholic

Here’s a set of cut and paste worksheet activities for the Beatitudes for big and little kids! They’re perfect for a lesson on the Sermon on the Mount or Beatitudes and the pages are differentiated for various ages/grades. The repetition is good to help with memorization.

The pages included are….

• 4 bee hive mats – 2 in color (1 with the blessed, 1 with the blessing), 2 in bw (1 with the blessed, 1 with the blessing)

• 2 beehives - 1 in color and 1 in bw to glue the Beatitudes in order

• 1 worksheet to place the Beatitudes in order from 1-8

• 3 cut & paste worksheets to place the missing words (1 with missing words, 1 with missing blessed, 1 with missing blessing)

• 1 Beatitudes strips to cut apart and place in order on a separate paper

• 1 Beatitudes page (Matthew 5:1-12 to cut out words and glue them on the sheet in order)

• 6 answer keys

These activities are good for a variety of ages/grades and are perfect for learning, memorizing, or reviewing the Beatitudes!

✿ The Beatitudes Poster Sets - Catholic

Here is a set of posters for the Beatitudes that Jesus gave during his Sermon on the Mount. The posters are numbered for each Beatitude. These posters are prefect to decorate a room all year or when the topic is studied. They could even be printed half size and made into a booklet!

The color posters feature a bright bee theme in yellow, white, and black. The black & white posters are on a black & white chevron pattern featuring cute bees. The poster with all the Beatitudes features adorable bee kids! Each poster also has the number of the beatitude (1-8).

There is also a poster for Matthew 5:11, as well as a poster that contains all the beatitudes from Matthew 5:3-10. In addition, there are alternate versions of 4 of the Beatitudes posters, Matthew 5:11, and the complete Matthew 5:3-10 poster to go along with Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) 1475. These are not shown in the preview.

✿ The Beatitudes Booklets with Jesus the Good Shepherd

This is a set of booklets for the Beatitudes featuring Jesus as the Good Shepherd. The booklets come in color or black and white. The black and white version makes for the perfect coloring booklet! The color version can be read together in class. Each page has a Beatitude on the page with a sheep.

There is an optional page to use at the end of the booklet with Matthew 5:11, which is the final verse from the Beatitudes that Jesus told his followers at the Sermon on the Mount.

UPDATE: This set of booklets have been updated with numbers on the pages and to match the rest of the Beatitudes activities using the NRSVCE version of the Bible. This update is shown in the preview, but is in the thumbnails (03/14/2020)

✿ The Beatitudes Task Cards or SCOOT Game

This is a set of 24 task cards for the Beatitudes which Jesus taught at the Sermon on the Mount. They can also be used for a game of SCOOT. These cards can also be used for 2 skills, which are to fill in the blanks with the missing words or to state which verse from Matthew 5 it comes from.

▣ Inside the Church Bingo Game - This is a bingo game for the items that you’d see inside the church and used during mass. This bingo game could be used to teach or review items that you’d see at church because they will have to identify and mark an image of the item.

The game is called “MASS” (when players get 4 in a row, they say "MASS" instead of "bingo'), so it is 4x4, which is 16 spaces per game board. There is no “free space”. There is a total of 20 cards and each of them has border that are colors of the liturgical year that you'd see the priest wear on various days/seasons. There are also calling cards that include the image of the item and the name. This bingo game is in full color.

Create a culture of success, perseverance, and motivation with these growth mindset affirmation posters, trading cards, and printables. With a list of teacher suggestions for product use, you will be able to utilize every page.

There are 22 different affirmations included. Each growth mindset affirmation comes in full color poster size, black and white poster size, full color trading cards (6 per page), and black and white trading cards (6 per page). Two printables are also included as well as 8 pages of bulletin board letters (G-R-O-W-T-H-M-I-N-D-S-E-T) in rainbow colors that match the posters if you choose to create a bulletin board.

GROWTH MINDSET PRIVACY FOLDER:

Are you teaching your students about growth mindset? This privacy office folder kit is a perfect way for your students to keep growth mindset concepts fresh. What better way to encourage their strengths than by providing messages for them in the space where they work? Most classrooms utilize privacy folders and these growth mindset folders allow your students to set goals and identify strengths and strategies when dealing with frustration or difficulty. Each file contains the pages needed to create the privacy folders (positive affirmations, two pages of fill-in blanks for students to create goals and reflect on strengths, and images congruent with growth mindset). What Do You Do With an Idea? by Kobi Yamada is a new, Independent Publisher's Book Award winning picture book. This literature unit is appropriate for 1st-4th grade. Note: Picture books are generally most appropriate for primary grades, but the concepts presented in 'What Do You Do With an Idea?' are appropriate for any age, so this unit is designed to reach students a bit older than the average picture book audience.

What Do You Do With an Idea focuses more on the concepts presented in the story and less on the content (although there are comprehension questions included in list form as well as task card form). In addition to the task cards and printables, you will also find a craftivity and growth mindset reflection page. Please check out the preview for What Do You Do With an Idea prior to purchasing.

What Do You Do With a Problem? by Kobi Yamada is a new picture book that works perfectly in conjunction with What Do You Do With an Idea?. This literature unit is appropriate for 1st-4th grade. Note: Picture books are generally most appropriate for primary grades, but the concepts presented in 'What Do You Do With a Problem?' are appropriate for any age, so this unit is designed to reach students a bit older than the average picture book audience.

What Do You Do With a Problem focuses more on the concepts presented in the story and less on the content (although there are comprehension questions included in list form as well as task card form). In addition to the task cards and printables, you will also find a variety of tasks where students can practice finding opportunities in real life problems as well as a growth mindset reflection page. Instructions are also included on how to set up a "Problem Patrol" in your classroom to assist students in solving problems (or receiving suggestions on how to manage problems). My hope is that this product will help your students learn how to find the gems of opportunity in problems. There is also a focus on how to deal with worries that students can control and worries that students can't control (and would even be perfect for a counselor who is facilitating a group for students that focuses on anxiety, worries, or problem-solving skills). What Do You Do With a Chance?:

This growth mindset literature unit for What Do You Do With a Chance? by Kobi Yamada is a perfect for 1st-4th grade. This new picture book works perfectly in conjunction with What Do You Do With an Idea? and What Do You Do With a Problem?. The activities in the literature companion focus more on the concepts presented in the story and less on the content (although there are vocabulary words and comprehension questions included in list form as well as task card form).

In addition to 10 vocabulary cards, 14 discussion question task cards, and various printables, you will also find a variety of tasks where students can reflect on taking risks.
