Winter Penguin Math Addition Craft | Decomposing Numbers to 10 Craftivity
By Breezy as ABC
Help your students practice decomposing numbers to 10 and writing the corresponding addition number sentences. This is a fun and engaging craft that gives students chances to write turn around facts and finding ways to make numbers to 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 using addition.
Give your students practice writing number sentences to match a picture using these no prep, print and go, cute winter penguins. First, students will practice decomposing numbers to ten by coloring the fish with 2 different colors. Students will then practice the commutative property and writing equations to match pictures by writing the equation that matches their penguin's belly, along with the turn around fact. This file includes 6 different penguin bellies full of either 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 fish. There are also 3 different penguin wings included for differentiation- no guides, line and box guides, or symbols already written.
This is a great project before or after winter break and looks great hanging on a bulletin board or up in the hallway!

Differentiated Create a Word Problem Project - Multiplication and Division

Each student chooses a different pair of numbers (they range from 8&4 to 80&4 so students can choose an appropriate challenge), make up a corresponding word problem for multiplication and one for division using their two numbers, answers the question using a representation and explain how they did it. A rubric (out of 4) is included.
Lots of Differentiation with
- Choice of problems ranging from easier to very challenging
- Reference sheets to support students in the more challenging aspects
- Additional number choices for students who need a modified curriculum or extra challenge
Note: Some of the preview pictures are of my other product which is almost the same but with fractions. If you see fractions in the preview pictures, don't worry there are no fractions in this project.
Differentiated Fraction Multiplication and Division Communication Project
By MsVisualizer
Each student chooses a different pair of numbers (one fraction, one whole or mixed), make up a corresponding word problem for multiplication and one for division using their two numbers, answers the question using a representation, and checks their answer using keep-change-flip. An MYP Communication rubric (out of 8) and a 100 point rubric are both included so you can choose.
Lots of Differentiation with
- Choice of problems ranging from easier to very challenging
- Reference sheets to support students in the more challenging aspects
- Additional number choices for students who need a modified curriculum

This was originally created for MYP Criterion C (communication) but can be used in any 5th or 6th grade class. I included a rubric that adds up to 100 to accommodate other grading policies.
Fraction Multiplication, Division, and Converting Fractions Decimals
By MsVisualizer
This is all of my fraction resources that I use with my 6th graders.
By EduCraft Marketplace
This is a simple project, but it adds in real life scenario of what the cost is going out to eat. Students end up shocked at the cost of going out to eat! The students pick out a restaurant of their choice (can download the menu offline), "go out to eat" with three other family members, order, determine cost, sales tax and tip for a total of going out to eat for 4 people. This could be a group project with four students going out to eat and seeing what the cost is for each. Either way, it shows their decimal skills with basic math operations and gives them a new appreciation of going out to eat!
