Volume of Cylinders, Cones, & Spheres Review Activity | Grade 8 Math
By EZMath
Level Ups are a fun way for your students to practice or review 8th grade volume of cylinders, cones, and spheres. Aligned to the common core standards, this Level Ups activity includes 5 differentiated tasks that increase in rigor.
The task cards begin with pre-requisite skills of identifying and calculating the volume of prisms, then "level up" all the way to calculating the volume of composite solids involving cylinders, cones, and spheres. Students must also apply their volume skills to real-world problems, such as filling water tanks and finding how much soda is in a 12-pack of soda cans.
Students start at level zero and work their way up to level 4, giving them accurate feedback on what they have mastered, and what they still need to work on. This lesson works as a great way to review angle relationships, or as preparation for an upcoming assessment.
This activity includes:
My students love "Level Up Day" in my own classroom, and the activity works great as independent practice, a pairs activity, or even group work. I also use this when I need a majority of students working independently while I pull a small group for intervention.

Geometry - Finding the Measure of Adjacent, or Missing, Angles
By Sassycat Corner
Working on Geometry skills? Are your students to find the measure of adjacent, or missing, angles? This DOUBLE set of 32 task cards (64 task cards in all) will give your students some much needed practice with this geometry related skill set! You get 32 multiple choice cards and 32 short answer cards. There is something here for everyone! Also included are 4 bonus practice sheets, a blank answer page, and answer keys. Use these task cards for a variety of activities - whole group games such as Scoot or Jeopardy; small group work, independent seat work, workstations or centers, or for test review. Mine love to do "math around the room". I tape the cards up around the room and allow them time to "find" the cards and solve them as they move around. Rectangle Area and Perimeter Thinking Problems
By MsVisualizer
Challenging Problems designed for group work on area and perimeter. Fixed area and fixed perimeter problems to push student thinking. Ideal for students who area already familiar with area and perimeter. I gave these to my 6th graders to refresh their memories from previous grades and still challenge them.
It can also be used to help students understand why when one of the side lengths is less than one, the area will be less than smaller than the other side length.
Congruence & Similarity Differentiated Review Activity | Grade 8 Math
By EZMath
Level Ups are a fun way for your students to practice or review 8th grade congruence and similarity using rigid and non-rigid transformations such as dilations, rotations, translations and reflections. Aligned to the common core standards, this Level Ups activity includes 5 differentiated tasks that increase in rigor.
The task cards begin with pre-requisite skills of identifying corresponding sides and angles between similar and congruent figures, then "level up" all the way to describing a sequence of multiple transformations that maps one figure onto another. Students must use these sequences to determine if two figures are congruent, similar, or neither.
Students start at level zero and work their way up to level 4, giving them accurate feedback on what they have mastered, and what they still need to work on. This lesson works as a great way to review angle relationships, or as preparation for an upcoming assessment.

Team Target Review: Transversals & Triangles Group Review Activity Grade 8
By EZMath
Ever needed a review activity on transversals and triangles that was fun and engaging for your students? Team Target Review is a cooperative and competitive activity designed to get students thinking, talking, and working together.
Teams of 2-4 students work together to complete increasing levels of difficulty on transversals intersecting parallel lines and the interior and exterior angles of triangles. As students progress, you can quickly assess mastery and give intervention help on the spot.
This activity works great as an engaging review session before an assessment, a quick(ish) activity on one of those pesky minimum days where you have limited time, or as part of a block period when you want to break up the direct instruction.
This activity includes:
-Suggested activity instructions (based on how I run this in my classroom).
-Six rounds with 4 problems each of targeted review on transversals and triangles for 8th grade.
-Complete worked out solutions for each round.
Note: This activity does not cover the Pythagorean Theorem!
