Letter Writing Craft: The Day the Crayons Quit

Task:

1. Students are going to write in the name of each crayon eight letters to the owner to express the opinions of crayons using the Air Mail Craft Book pages.

2. Each student will follow informational writing format (topic sentence and detail sentences) for each letter.

Step by step assignment directions are giving using the book "The Day the Crayons Quit" by Drew Daywalt as a model.

You could use this Air Mail papers to write anything letters.

This rubric scores the personal narrative writing assignment out of 18 possible points. The rating scale use is a 3, 2, 1, & 0.

Writing a Play and Drama Pack

Writing a play is a perfect project that gives students time to write about an event that happened in their life or an event that they made up. Once they are finished, they can share it with different groups of people and have their friends play each character. This packet includes information to share with your students about what a play is, examples of plays they may see, what steps to follow when writing the beginning, middle and end of a play, and identifying the parts of a play. This packet also includes an example showing the process that is used to write a play using a brainstorming play chart. An example of the play chart and template is also included. On the last several pages, templates are included to help students write the rough draft and final draft of their play that includes space for characters, scenes, stage directions, and lines to show what their characters are saying.
