7th Grade Thanksgiving Handouts

Are you looking for a simple vocabulary list to introduce or review Thanksgiving vocabulary in Spanish with your students? Look no further! Included in this free download are 30 terms represented on a half-page list. This is an excellent companion to my Thanksgiving products.

The terms represented include:

• Thanksgiving foods (such as stuffing, turkey, and corn on the cob)
• People (Native American, Pilgrim, family)
• other related vocabulary (such as to give thanks, delicious, and traditions)

Ever wonder what became of the Mayflower? The ship sailed with 102 Pilgrims over the Atlantic to North America, in 1620. If you are expecting to find it docked to some pier, or in a museum, you’d be wrong. That’s because the Mayflower most likely ended up as scrap wood and may have ended up in an old Quaker Barn in Great Britain! This Reading Passage is a possible Interactive Notebook Activity with Did You Know? facts and several Your Turn questions.

Did you know that the Aztecs, of Mexico, were raising turkeys even earlier, about 200 B.C. ? Did you know that the state of Minnesota raises more turkeys each year than any other state? An estimated 44 million were raised in 2013! Share these fun factoids on the turkey with family and friends!

FALL means PUMPKINS! Use this informative freebie to learn all about pumpkins!

Try my webquest on Pumpkins: 8 web questions with several comprehension questions(lots of extension activities). Pumpkins: A Webquest!

2023: A man in Minnesota has squashed the previous WORLD record for the biggest pumpkin ever grown. In 2021, a man in Italy grew a pumpkin that tipped the scale at 2703 pounds. Last week, a man in Minnesota, drove his giant pumpkin to the World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off, located in Half Moon Bay, CA. His pumpkin weighed in at a whopping 2749 pounds! Travis Gienger, a horticultural teacher, called his pumpkin, which he grew in his backyard, Michael Jordan! Gienger said it cost about $15,000 to care and feed his pumpkin. In 2024, Gienger tried to break his very own record but did not do so.
